I get tired of seeing all these posts that bash Christians. “The bible is just a book. If you lived by what a book said, then you’ll NEVER survive in the REAL world.” “God is an imaginary friend.” “Jesus was just some guy.” “Christians who are against gay marriage can go fuck themselves.” You know what? If you’re posting stuff like that, you’re everything that you accuse Christians of being. Small-minded. Ignorant. Pig-headed. Not all Christians are like those Westboro Baptists. There are some of us who are trying to understand and even fighting for the same things you believe in. You think God and the Bible are irrelevant. But have you read the Bible? Do you know how many of the things the Bible talks about that are the same things you deal with today? You say “stop judging me for loving whoever I want.” So many of us don’t judge you, because God said don’t judge each other. But why do you get to condemn me for believing in God and the inerrancy of the Bible? Because I don’t believe that we should have gay marriage? Why do I get called an idiot for believing in something different from you? You can live by your own conscience, and I’ll live by mine. And according to mine, the Bible tells me what’s right and wrong. It’s up to me to actually live up to that. If I fail, it’s not a reflection of God or the Bible. That’s just my humanity. I don’t get why believing in God proves I’m stupid or afraid or immature. I’m not saying I, personally, have all the answers, cuz I don’t. I’m just trying to what I hold to be Truth and Right. Like you. But while I’m doing it, I’m not the one calling others idiots for not holding the same beliefs.
